·         Ridership

Average weekday ridership for the month of April 2023 was 122,552, up by 1,285 or 6% from the previous year. Fiscal year-to-date ridership is at 32,639,161, up by 13% from the previous year.

 

Ridership continues to recover in 2023 and is still approximately 36 percent lower than pre-pandemic level.

 

·         On-Time Performance

System-wide on-time performance is at 67.8% for the month of April 2023. Out of 107 total routes, 29 routes exceeded on-time performance at 80% and 2 performed under 50%. Rail construction on the Dillingham corridor has been affecting many of our routes that run into Honolulu on the parallel corridors along Nimitz Highway and King Street.

 

The DTS and OTS Service Review Committee reviews service levels, including on-time performance monthly.

 

·         Maintenance

Miles between Mechanical Road Calls has improved over the year averaging 12,713 miles for the year.

 

·         Service Modifications

Minor service modifications to the following routes were implemented with the March sign-up and remain in effect until the May sign-up.

 

-       Route E westbound route change;

-       Route 6 reroute 4 AM trips (weekdays only) into University of Hawaii at Manoa campus;

-       Route 85 and 87 start PM trips at Alapai Transit Center.

 

We continue to work with DTS on bus/rail service integration with an implementation date of July 1st.
